Music & friends (and food!)

Porter has been eating like a champ lately. Tonight he had potatoes, carrots, rutabaga (or 'turnip' here in NL, although they are rutabaga), pears, plums, macaroni noodles and milk (both kinds!). I was too busy protecting myself from the spray to get any pictures, but earlier today I was able to snap a few shots of him chowing down on some strawberries. It must be those two extra teeth in his upper gums that have made things a little easier in the chewing department. Yup, that's right, he cut his top two front incisors the first day we arrived. You can see them in the third picture. WARNING: These pictures look a bit gruesome.

The weather has been off and on over the past couple of days. Yesterday was sunny and warm, so we made our way 'up harbour' with the Hamlyn-High clan. Here's Porter waving to his buds, Amelia and Clare, as they make their way up the road.

On Saturday night, Porter helped Mama take tickets at the door for Nana's show, Back Room Sessions. He loved meeting all the new people, and he stayed up for the entire show! I think his hands were sore from clapping.

We always knew that Porter had a love of music, but it wasn't until Uncle Mike and Nana took out their guitars that his face really lit up. Here are a couple of pictures of Porter enjoying Nana's music. Note: There's a video of this as well, but it will have to wait to be posted until we return to NC.

Amelia and Joanne enjoyed introducing Porter to a big piano!

Lastly, here is Porter's first introduction to Newfoundland lobsters. Again, there's a video of this encounter that will be posted after our return home.

If you want to wish Porter a happy 1st birthday and have a piece of cake, feel free to stop by Nana's place in Back Harbour on Wednesday between noon and 3pm. Keep your fingers crossed for nice weather!
