A Big Year for our Little Man

Happy 1st Birthday Porter!

Wednesday was a big day for the Little Man. He woke up to his Mama singing him happy birthday, with a fog bank rolling over the harbour. An open house was planned for noon, so we prepared the house for a few guests, both big and small. He donned his birthday suit (no, not what you think; see below), and I spent the morning blowing up balloons and icing his birthday cake. As noon approached, the fog lifted and the sun started to shine. What a beautiful afternoon it turned out to be! We spent most of it sitting on the grass in the backyard, until it was time for cake.

Porter in his birthday suit. I think he's upset about having to wear the hat.

Cake for the big kids.

Cake for the little kids (and young at heart). Porter's was the blue angler fish at the bottom.

A very sweet personalized gift from Sharon Roberts.

Thanks to everyone for the gifts, cards and visits!!!!

It's hard to believe what our Little Man has been through this past year. The first few months could be described like Twillingate weather - cloaked in fog and drizzling rain - until the surgery, when the fog lifted and the sun started to shine. It's been shining bright ever since! Thanks again to everyone who has taken a minute to send a kind thought to our Little Man.

Stay tuned for more updates from The Rock!
