Sandbox 101: How to Build a Sandbox

In mid-March, the weather was getting nice enough to spend more time in the backyard, so a sandbox was required (of course!).  Dad took a trip to Lowe's to pick up the supplies, and returned with lumber, a kid-size shovel and rake, and over 500 lbs of sand.  Yup, sand is heavy.  Luckily, the Red Rider wagon provided transport of the quarter ton of sand to the backyard.  Porter was oblivious to the fact that we were building something for him, but enjoyed himself nonetheless.  He especially liked the drill!

The big reveal

He's happy, I swear. (Check out the cutest rake in the world!)
