Spring Break!!!!!

No, no....we're not heading to some tropical location, with sandy beaches and clear blue water. We're staying right here at home and enjoying quality time with the Little Man. I've been quite busy since I returned to work. The lectures and quizzes are back in full swing, and nursing sessions have been added to the mix. We are fortunate to have Porter in daycare at the Child Development Center at CFCC, and my schedule allows for frequent breastfeeding visits throughout the day. In addition to the convenient feeding situation, Porter LOVES his new environment. There are currently eight babies ranging in age from 4 months to one year, and the wonderful girls taking care of them all deserve medals. I just hope that Porter continues to sleep both to and from work (knocking on wood right now) as he gets older. As for developmental milestones, check it out:

He really enjoys standing next to the activity box that Uncle Mark and Auntie Dana got him this past xmas. He can't pull himself up yet, but he's getting stronger every day.

His vocabulary hasn't changed much in the last few weeks. He grunts and hmmmms every now and then, but no 'ma' or 'da' yet. All in good time. I'm sure when he starts talking, we'll be wishing for these quiet days! He's still hating bellytime; we're thinking he's just going to skip crawling and start walking one day, just like his Dad did when he was a little one.

And when he's in a jovial mood:

Here are a few more pics from the last month:

On a sad note, Governor Perdue has recommended the elimination of the Marine Tech program in her 2011 state budget. Some of you may recall that this almost happened back in 2009, but thankfully with support from friends, employers and students, we were taken off the chopping block. Well, we need your support again. Here is a link for more information. Please write, email and/or call the local delegation to voice your opposition.
