Feeling Like A Champ

Cue "We are the Champions" ..... apologies to those that are uncomfortable seeing Freddie Mercury in his oreo leotard.

Porter was finally discharged from Pitt Memorial Hospital today....and we feel like we've just completed a 2 week long Ironman Triathlon. Which is fitting b/c thanks to a killer assortment of movies Uncle Mark and Aunt Dana dropped off, we've found a new nickname for Porter...

We can't thank all of our family and friends enough. All of your thoughts, prayers, emails, texts, cards, calls, dog care, lawn service, donations, and visits have helped us pull through this trying time in our lives. We couldn't have made it through this without YOU. A special thank you is reserved for Grandma Bebe. She was with us during those first hours of uncertainty and terror. Her strength and composure calmed our nerves and reassured our belief that everything was going to be ok. Thanks Bebe.

The past two weeks have tested all three of us (not including Maple...she's been pampered at doggy day care with Gromit, Hula, and Hazel). We've learned a lot about who we are, what we are capable of, and strengthened our love for each other. After pulling through this, we know we can get through anything. Including Porter's future surgeries. We've had a stark reminder on how fragile life is, and how in a split second, your life can change.

Smile. Enjoy life. Don't hold back. Take a chance. Live life to its fullest.

Porter is...

PS-

After hearing about getting discharged Porter celebrated with a milk bender.

Milk drunk

  1. I've seen that exact look on his father's face once or twice. Congratulations all. Welcome home.
