Due Date Festivities

The due date has come and gone in the Degan household. To celebrate the day, which was fittingly July 4th, we got up at the break of dawn and took a walk on the beach. It was nice to get out of the house and enjoy the beach before the crowds arrived. Maple especially enjoyed running around in the sand and surf.

Once home, we sat out on the back deck to enjoy the weather. Brian cut his hair, and we made another belly cast (this one being a little bigger than the last at 34 weeks!).

We finished the day with a drive through "small town" Swansboro to watch the fireworks. Little did we know that everyone and their dog would be out as well. The streets were packed! We ended up hanging out in the median of the highway to watch the show.

We are reminded every day of how all our friends and family are thinking of us and the impending arrival of the little one, and we couldn't be more thankful for all the kind thoughts and wishes. We are enjoying these last days of rest and relaxation, and know that Baby Degan will come when he/she is good and ready. Stay posted!!
